About The Position

As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol Driver in North Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will conduct regular patrols and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents throughout the location. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for monitoring various areas while operating a vehicle onsite. You will also provide outstanding customer service and communication, all while upholding our values of agility, reliability, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
  • Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and verify the credentials of individuals entering the location as required.
  • Support emergency response drills and participate in site-specific training to remain prepared for a variety of situations.
  • Provide visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptions and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
