About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver, Alarm Response in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, support access control, and assist guests and team members with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including shoplifting concerns, disturbances, medical events, and fire or alarm activations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, stock areas as permitted, common areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter theft and other unwanted activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and promptly report concerns to on-site management and/or law enforcement as directed.
• Complete routine reports and logs, document incidents, and communicate updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts using approved radio and/or phone protocols.
