About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Coverage in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, residents, staff, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures, screening access, and supporting security-related operations at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with site leadership and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or policy concerns.
  • Monitor activity at assigned posts and help to deter unauthorized access, disruptive behavior, and/or prohibited items through observation, verbal interaction, and adherence to post orders.
  • Support emergency response activities, provide directions and general assistance, and complete required reports related to daily activity, incidents, and/or security-related concerns.
