About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Compliance Rounds in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to reports, document observations, and support visitors and staff with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas such as transit platforms, concourses, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management, access control concerns, and/or coordinating with onsite personnel and public agencies as needed.
  • Monitor and report unusual activity through detailed documentation, including completing incident reports, activity logs, and/or shift briefings according to site requirements.
  • Control access to restricted areas by checking identification, observing deliveries and visitor flow, and/or directing patrons to appropriate routes and resources while maintaining a professional presence.
