About The Position

The Security Officer position at Mattel is a part-time role focused on ensuring the safety and security of the De Forest Distribution Center. The officer will be responsible for protecting employees, guests, products, and the overall brand by enforcing security protocols, conducting patrols, and responding to emergencies. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the Global Security Team.

Requirements

  • One+ years of experience in Security, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, or military background preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Valid Security Guard License (where required) is necessary.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens, or willingness to obtain certification through training provided by Mattel.
  • Ability to work varying shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence, including detailed incident reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with security equipment such as handheld and walk-thru metal detectors, handheld radios, and access control systems.
  • Strong analytical abilities to think critically and make well-reasoned decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Mattel Global Security Department's Best Practices and adhere to CTPAT program recommendations.
  • Complete security duties and related tasks as set forth in the Contingency Operations and SOP manuals.
  • Perform administrative data entry duties as assigned by post orders standards.
  • Coordinate traffic control, visitor registration, and direct suppliers, contractors, and delivery persons.
  • Complete mobile and foot patrols to monitor the campus for security and facilities-related concerns.
  • Monitor the access control system, CCTV system, and the guard tour management system.
  • Support IP security controls and provide high-level customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors.
  • Monitor control panels for alarms and report any service/maintenance issues.
  • Contact Security Supervisor during emergency situations and complete applicable Incident Reports.
  • Respond to environmental and first aid emergencies and facilitate the process.
