As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will support shoppers and staff through strong customer service, clear communication, detailed reporting, and a professional, integrity-focused approach within Allied Universal’s caring, agile, team-driven culture.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, guests, and team members by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail environment.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, cart areas, receiving areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
• Monitor customer and associate traffic, observe for suspicious or disruptive behavior, and communicate concerns to onsite leaders and/or law enforcement as directed by post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting observations, and completing required incident reports.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence, assisting with access control at designated doors, and following established procedures for alarms, after-hours checks, and/or store closing patrols.
