As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts, and respond to concerns with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have a guard card or license, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, suspicious activity, disturbances, and/or alarms, and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to identify hazards and maintenance concerns.
  • Control access to campus facilities by monitoring entrances, checking identification when required, and directing visitors to appropriate offices and/or check-in locations.
  • Complete detailed reports and activity logs, communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts, and support investigations by preserving observations and available video when requested.
