As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned campus areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, and visitors with professional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an academic campus setting.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to appropriate campus resources and/or public services.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying identification, directing visitors, and documenting entries, exits, and unusual activity per site procedures.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate pertinent information to site leadership, and support special events with presence and patrol coverage as assigned.
