As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will assist with access control, respond to calls for service, and document observations. Requirements

  • Be able to work in a hospital setting where vaccines are present.
  • Be able to work in a hospital setting where a morgue is present.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, and report hazardous conditions or policy concerns to site leadership.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify credentials as required, and help manage visitor flow and/or deliveries according to site procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
