As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage access control and badging, monitor assigned areas, and conduct routine patrols to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will remain highly visible, support visitors and employees with clear communication, and document activity with attention to detail. Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors at a utility location by following site-specific procedures, access control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate access control points including gates, lobbies, and/or turnstiles by verifying credentials, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining accurate entry and exit logs.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other monitoring systems and report unusual activity, access violations, and/or maintenance concerns according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, coordinating with site contacts, and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, restricted areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and support security-related procedures.
