As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting a utilities location in an access control post, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and monitor alarms and cameras for security-related activity. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce incidents, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts and first responders while delivering a professional customer-service experience.

Requirements

• Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor registration, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and maintaining access logs in accordance with post orders.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and report unusual activity through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, operational areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized entry and identify conditions that require follow-up by site contacts.
• Coordinate with site operations and/or control rooms to support authorized deliveries, service calls, and vehicle entry, completing required documentation and escalating concerns per policy.
