As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor flow. You will communicate clearly with tenants, guests, and building teams, document observations, and respond to calls for service with professionalism. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify identification and/or access permissions as required, and help to deter unauthorized entry and property damage.
  • Respond to alarms, tenant concerns, and incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of lobbies, corridors, elevators, loading dock areas, stairwells, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Complete accurate shift reports, incident reports, and log entries, and communicate notable activity to property management and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
