As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols across buildings and grounds, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with courteous assistance and clear communication. You will document observations, respond to security-related concerns, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and check identification and/or visitor authorization as directed, documenting entries, exits, and unusual activity per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, reporting, and coordination with campus resources as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and follow up on maintenance and/or hazard notifications according to site protocols.
