About The Position

As a Security Officer Overnight Patrol Driver in Cary, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a government education location, where you will conduct routine patrols by foot, bike, and vehicle, help to deter security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities across school and administrative locations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, while documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, hallways, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, support entry and exit procedures, and assist with directing foot and vehicle traffic during daily operations and special events.
  • Support Allied Universal and location protocols by preparing routine reports, communicating clearly with staff and public contacts, and following post orders for assigned government education facilities.
