As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
Possess a valid armed guard card or armed guard license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies and/or responding to emergency situations as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order within the location.
Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during the assigned shift.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when required, following established protocols for the location.
Operate security-related equipment, including radios and surveillance systems, as needed for the assigned post.
Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate parties.
