Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Respond to incidents, service calls, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, first responders, and/or relevant personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout stations, platforms, entrances, waiting areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, hazards, and/or policy violations in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Complete routine reports and logs, document incidents and/or observations, and provide visible support during busy periods, special events, and/or service disruptions.
