Job Description As a Security Officer - NYS Licensed Concierge in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Officer in an education setting, you will be the welcoming first point of contact, helping manage access, check in visitors, issue badges, and support students, faculty, and guests with clear communication. You will monitor cameras and alarms, document security-related activity, and coordinate with site staff and responders when needed. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the front desk.
  • Greet and screen visitors, issue temporary access credentials when authorized, and maintain visitor logs in accordance with campus policy.
  • Monitor access control points and security-related systems such as alarms, cameras, and intercoms, and communicate concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and completing required reports.
  • Answer phones and route calls, provide directions and general information, and coordinate with campus departments and/or first responders as needed.
