Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital is an 84-bed acute-care community hospital offering comprehensive emergency, inpatient and outpatient care. Specialties include cardiology, critical care, infectious disease, orthopedics, radiology and surgical services. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
  • Must obtain a State of Florida Class D Security Officer License within 120 days of hire.
  • Must obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 120 days of hire.
  • Must obtain a Basic Security Officer Certification or higher level of certification within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides security services to ensure order and safety of patients, visitors and hospital personnel.
  • Escorts for visitors, employees, and students upon request.
  • Patrols all areas of the hospital internally and externally on foot, bicycle, and/or vehicle 24 hours a day in all weather conditions.
  • Provides key assists to all areas of the hospital, including sensitive areas to authorized personnel.
  • Detects suspicious activities within the campus and handles the situations appropriately.
  • Reports criminal activity to supervisor and law enforcement, as appropriate.
  • Investigates accident scenes, searches for and preserves evidence; investigates and interviews witnesses; makes oral and written reports.
  • Responds to varying situations with tact and diplomacy and deals with stressful, hostile or irrational person(s).
  • Assists medical staff with the enforcement of Baker Act and Marchman Act patients with the use of approved medical restraints as requested by physicians.
  • Works with law enforcement/correction officers dealing with patient/prisoner intake and status during the duration of their stay in the hospital.
  • Reports all safety and security violations throughout the campus.
  • Responds to all inbound and outbound helicopter flights by ensuring the safety of the helipad and assists flight crew in handling and transporting of patient(s) as needed.
  • Uses and understands the operation of walk-through and hand held metal detectors.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
