Job Description As a Security Officer - Neighborhood Patrol in CHICAGO, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a premier commercial real estate location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and deliver customer-focused communication to tenants, visitors, and management. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial office property.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of building interiors, common areas, loading or dock areas, parking locations, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, then document security-related observations, patrol activities, and incidents in written reports and/or electronic systems.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting assistance as needed and communicating updates to property management and/or responding personnel.
  • Support security-related operations such as visitor and vendor management, key and badge control per site policy, and providing directions and assistance while maintaining professional presence.
