About The Position

As a Security Officer - Neighborhood Patrol Driver in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer supporting a busy healthcare location. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related concerns, assist staff, patients, and visitors with courteous service, and document observations using site technology. You will communicate clearly, respond to calls for assistance, and work as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns, documenting activity, and/or coordinating with site leadership and local responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, corridors, parking areas, and/or perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow as assigned, assisting with directions, checking credentials when required, and/or observing for policy violations.
  • Complete required security-related reports and logs, communicate observations during shift changes, and follow escalation procedures for medical facility-specific situations such as disturbances, elopement concerns, and/or restricted area access.
