About The Position

As a Security Officer - Neighborhood Patrol Driver in Linden, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal supporting a utilities location as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, monitor activity, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, operational areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access, property damage, and/or other suspicious activity.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification and authorizations, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and directing traffic as required by site procedures.
  • Complete clear and accurate reports of patrol observations, incidents, and/or maintenance concerns, and report hazards, abnormal conditions, and/or policy violations to the appropriate site representative.
