About The Position

As a Security Officer - Municipal Site Patrol Weekdays in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a high-visibility government transportation location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and stay present to help to deter security-related incidents. You will report concerns, assist riders and staff with clear communication, and support a smooth daily operation. Requirements

  • Have a New York State Security Guard License.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout platforms, mezzanines, entrances, corridors, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards, maintenance issues, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, help manage crowd flow during peak periods and/or service disruptions, and assist with wayfinding and customer inquiries.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and logs, and communicate timely updates to supervisors and site contacts.
