About The Position

As a Security Officer - Mobile Patrol Unit in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support employees and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting while using on-site technology to document activity. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout tech-focused facilities, including interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access control points and help manage authorized entry and/or exit by checking credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and reporting irregularities per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications to site contacts and/or public responders as directed.
  • Complete detailed patrol activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications, and use site systems for security-related reporting and escalation.
