As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors with strong customer service, communicate clearly, and document observations for the team. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and compliance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of rail yard areas, buildings, parking lots, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and help manage entry and exit of personnel and vehicles by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing traffic flow as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications to site contacts and public responders when required.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, document unusual activity, and communicate observations to supervisors and site representatives.
