Job Description As a Security Officer - Metal Detector Screener in Indianapolis, IN , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor and patrol assigned areas while managing screening checkpoints for people, packages, and deliveries. You will use screening tools and clear communication to help identify prohibited items and support security-related incident reporting. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to the client by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen associates, visitors, and vendors for authorized entry using badges, photo identification, sign-in procedures, and security-related screening equipment as required.
• Inspect inbound and outbound items, parcels, and/or shipments for prohibited items and policy compliance, documenting findings per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including dock areas and parking lots, while completing required reports and logs.
