As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic retail and mall location, you will welcome associates and visitors, manage entry points, verify credentials, and support badge check-in processes. You will remain a highly visible presence, conduct routine patrols nearby, and communicate clearly to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at retail and mall entrances, service corridors and/or back-of-house areas by verifying identification, directing visitors, managing sign-in logs and issuing visitor credentials when authorized.
  • Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity and/or policy violations; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and complete required reports.
  • Coordinate access for deliveries, vendors and contractors by confirming appointments, guiding to approved routes and communicating with onsite management as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas and the perimeter, with working conditions varying by location.
