About The Position

As a Security Officer - Medical Office in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a strong visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with courteous service. You will complete routine patrols, assist with access control and badge checks as needed, and communicate clearly while documenting observations. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including lobbies, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting additional support when needed.
  • Monitor access points and control entry to limited-access areas per site procedures, verifying credentials and directing visitors to appropriate destinations.
  • Complete reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, documenting incidents, observations, and actions taken according to post orders.
