Job Description As a Security Officer - Medical Center Patrol in Wexford, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • Vaccines are required for this hospital site.
  • This post is located in a hospital morgue.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and clear communication.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and parking areas to help to deter unwanted activity and to identify security-related concerns.
  • Control access at designated entrances by monitoring authorized entry, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in points.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other systems as assigned and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Document security-related incidents, observations, and patrol activity in written logs and/or electronic reporting systems in a timely manner.
  • Assist with visitor management by providing directions, supporting wayfinding, and coordinating with staff for after-hours access as required.
  • Support staff during disruptive behavior incidents by maintaining a professional presence and contacting appropriate responders when escalation may be needed.
  • Help maintain orderly flow in high-traffic areas such as lobbies, corridors, emergency department entrances, and waiting rooms as assigned by post orders.
  • Perform checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas to confirm they are secured per site policy and report maintenance issues such as broken locks, lighting outages, and/or hazards.
  • Respond to calls for assistance such as lost and found inquiries, escorts to vehicles when available, and/or locating departments within the facility.
  • Work closely with facility leadership, clinical teams, and local responders as needed, following the chain of command and established communication protocols.
