About The Position

As a Security Officer - Medical Campus Patrol in Ontario, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist with access points, support staff and visitors through professional communication, and document observations and concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned healthcare areas, including corridors, lobbies, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Control access at designated entry points by monitoring doors, checking authorization when required, and directing visitors to the proper check-in or waiting areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems as assigned, and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns to the appropriate contact.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious persons, medical support requests, and patient/visitor concerns, and coordinate with on-site staff and/or public responders as needed.
  • Complete security-related reports and incident documentation with clear, timely details, and communicate updates to supervisors and location leadership.
  • Assist with de-escalation and customer service interventions when conflicts arise, using a respectful, professional approach.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities such as evacuations, severe weather response, and fire alarm response according to location procedures.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, lighting, stairwells, and common areas, and report hazards or damage through the appropriate channels.
  • Follow all location rules related to privacy and confidentiality while performing patrols, monitoring activity, and interacting with patients and visitors.
