As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet guests, support tenant and/or shopper concerns, and communicate clearly with site teams while documenting activity. Requirements
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, guests, and shoppers by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting local emergency services and/or site management as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail common areas, corridors, loading areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
- Control access to restricted areas by monitoring doors, service corridors, and delivery points, verifying credentials and/or directing visitors and vendors according to site guidelines.
- Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership, property management, and/or incoming shift personnel.
