About The Position

As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol Unarmed in Wheaton, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a premier retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service. Your presence will provide reassurance to visitors and staff, and you will respond to situations with professionalism and care. Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control or badge experience is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the retail and mall environment.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible Allied Universal presence.
Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual activity encountered during patrols.
Assist visitors, tenants, and/or employees with directions and general inquiries while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when required.
Complete required logs and reports accurately and in a timely manner as directed by site procedures.
