As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, you will complete routine patrols and vehicle rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and a customer-first mindset. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Requirements

  • New York State Security Guard License.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including resolving disturbances, addressing disruptive behavior and/or coordinating with local law enforcement as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, common areas, loading and receiving areas and the exterior perimeter to help to deter theft and/or property damage.
  • Monitor entrances, exits and high-traffic areas, watching for suspicious activity and policy violations, and report concerns through required documentation and communication channels.
  • Complete required reports, incident documentation and shift logs, and communicate key information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
