Job Description As a Security Officer - Mall Access Control in Reno, NV , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy retail location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents. You will greet shoppers and staff, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with your team while documenting observations. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, guests, and/or team members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floor areas, entrances and exits, stockroom corridors, and the surrounding perimeter as assigned.
Monitor customer and employee activity for suspicious behavior and/or policy violations, and help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or disorderly conduct through presence and professional interaction.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, fire alarms, and/or other urgent situations.
Control access as assigned by checking doors, gates, and restricted areas, and assist with crowd flow and queue management during busy store periods.
Operate and observe security-related systems when available, including video monitoring, alarm panels, and two-way radios, and report any malfunctions.
Document routine activity and incident details in written reports, including accurate times, locations, actions taken, and notifications made.
Communicate with on-site management, Allied Universal leadership, and/or responding public services as needed, following site instructions and escalation procedures.
Support opening and closing procedures as assigned, including walking the building, checking exterior conditions, and verifying key areas are secured per post orders.
