Job Descriptions – Security Officer & Maintenance Technician Security Officer (2 Days per Week) Reports To: Director of Safety & Security Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Prefer previous security/corrections/military experience and/or successful completion of approved security training program. Skills Comfortable with computers; experience with surveillance systems preferred but not required. Outgoing personality; enjoys interacting with people. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiar with placing calls on hold and transferring calls. Critical thinking and sound judgment. Visual acuity and hearing ability to observe and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources. Ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and/or moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting, standing for long periods of time, and handling of materials. Primary Duties Provide a physical security presence. Monitor and manipulate the Employee Access Control System. Monitor security cameras at multiple locations. Conduct regular rounds of buildings and surrounding premises to deter and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Perform checks on windows, doors, gates, stairwells, fire exits, mechanical rooms and other areas as assigned or that trespassers may use to gain illegal access; ensure they are properly secured. Inspect equipment if required to ascertain that tampering has not occurred and/or is in working order. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences including standing water or fire hazards, failure indicators on mechanical or electrical equipment, and temperature controls. Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances. Contact police, paramedics, or fire departments in cases of emergency. Inform persons of rule infractions or violations such as loitering, smoking, carrying forbidden articles. Assist in evacuation of buildings in case of emergency. Frequent data entry. Continuous repetitive grasping and manipulation of both hands. Continuous conversational communication. QualificationsMaintenance Technician (3 Days per Week) Reports To: Director of Maintenance Education: High School diploma or equivalent Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electricity; able to operate and repair all types of mechanical/maintenance equipment Primary Duties Transport trash (e.g., x-ray/ultrasound, lab, conference room). Inspect grounds to ensure safe conditions; remove trash, debris and snow. Set up meeting rooms daily. Wash walls, lights, windows, fixtures, equipment and vents. Stock, transport and monitor level of building maintenance chemicals and supplies. Clean and polish metal/porcelain fixtures. Clean up emergency spills. Perform minor repair, testing and maintenance of electrical/mechanical appliances and equipment. Service interior and exterior faucets and drains. Rebuild/repair plumbing valves. Pest extermination. Minor furniture repair. Troubleshooting and daily maintenance of heating/roof air conditioning systems. Monitor and troubleshoot main sewer line under building. Clean and maintain sump pump. Monitor and reset electronic timers and thermostats. Participate in new construction and remodeling efforts. Monitor and maintain interior and exterior lighting. Wallpaper and paint. Install decorations. Comply with all regulations related to confidentiality of patient information. Assist Director of Maintenance in remote site maintenance. Other Duties Provide back-up support for Director of Maintenance. Pick up and deliver parts, equipment and supplies. Dry and wet mop, wax and buff floors as necessary. Vacuum and shampoo carpets, bacteria control and spot removal as necessary. Assist medical staff in moving and controlling patients. Assist other departments with moving heavy supplies, equipment or furniture. Assist with building security needs. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Date: 5/20/2019. Occasional exposure to hazardous materials. Read and interpret detailed specifications, technical manuals, instruments, dials, etc. Understand/carry out simple/detailed oral/written instructions. Memorize and retain instructions. Diagnose and repair machinery, equipment and instrument malfunctions.
