About The Position

As a Security Officer - Main Entrance Access Control in Smyrna, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and team members, verify credentials, manage visitor and shipment entry, and document activity with clear communication. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents while delivering responsive customer service. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution facility.
  • Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entry points by verifying identification, checking driver and visitor credentials, issuing temporary access credentials as required, and maintaining access logs.
  • Coordinate with shipping, receiving, and yard operations to screen inbound and outbound traffic, confirm appointments and/or load information, and direct drivers and visitors to appropriate staging and check-in areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as needed and documenting events per policy.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, dock areas, parking lots, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized access and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations.
