Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, observe and report concerns, and provide professional customer service through clear communication with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of security experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government office location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting, documentation, and timely communication to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, public-facing spaces, and the building perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas during patrols, assisting with visitor direction, queue management, and reporting concerns to site leadership.
  • Complete routine logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs per post orders, including observations from patrols and any security-related maintenance or hazard concerns noted.
