Requirements

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout transit facilities, public access areas, platforms, stations, offices, and perimeter locations as assigned.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity within a government location.
• Support crowd management, access control, and public assistance activities while maintaining awareness of changing conditions in high-traffic environments.
