About The Position

Requirements

  • Six months experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service; or one year experience as a security officer.
  • Completion of IAHSS Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer within 90 days.
  • American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding and use of de-escalation techniques.
  • Current driver's license with satisfactory DMV report or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Current state issued security officer license with no disciplinary actions.
  • Workplace violence training annually.

Responsibilities

  • Perform security officer operational duties and administrative tasks associated with the shift.
  • Coordinate the work of Security Officers in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Oversee work activity during the shift.
  • Serve as the primary site contact for law enforcement agencies when senior Security leadership is not on site.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with Dignity Health core values and humankindness.
  • Support Dignity Health's strategic plan and quality improvement activities.
