The Security Lead Officer is responsible for overseeing the safety and security operations of the hospital campus. This role involves constant communication with the Security Supervisor and Director of Safety and Security, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and providing field assistance to security staff. The Lead Officer plays a crucial role in emergency situations, staff organization, and the training of new personnel, while also maintaining documentation and reporting on security incidents.

  • Enforce safety and security protocols on the hospital campus.
  • Provide field assistance and communication to the Security Supervisor and Director of Safety and Security.
  • Monitor security posts to ensure proper execution of duties by officers.
  • Assist in organizing staff during emergencies and assign special tasks as needed.
  • Discuss and report on investigations or security issues with supervisors.
  • Conduct and monitor field investigations and inquiries.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of incidents by security officers.
  • Report unusual events and emergency situations to the Security Supervisor.
  • Provide daily briefings at the end of shifts.
  • Respond to off-site alarms and present formal reports to supervisors.
  • Maintain a daily journal of vehicle inspection reports.
  • Participate in training and monitoring of newly assigned personnel.
  • Contribute to departmental staff meetings and training programs.
  • Ensure security officers are in proper uniform and equipped for duty.
  • Maintain communication with the Security Control Center regarding surveillance equipment.
  • Monitor code calls and report any policy violations.
  • Assume Supervisor's duties in their absence.
  • Good knowledge of safety and security management principles, especially in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of security monitoring systems and report formatting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain writing skills for reports.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks accurately and timely with attention to detail.
  • Ability to assess staffing needs and delegate responsibilities.
  • Experience in hospital security or related fields.
  • Certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
  • Knowledge of emergency management protocols.
