As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site personnel and the public, and respond to concerns with professionalism and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter areas; document observations and report maintenance, access control, and/or policy issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; de-escalate confrontations when appropriate and request assistance from supervisors and/or local public responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and help to deter unauthorized entry, loitering, and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Complete reports and shift logs, communicate security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and preserve scene conditions for follow-up when incidents occur.
