Job Description As a Security Officer - Credential Verification in Gary, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and maintain accurate logs. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial manufacturing location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges and/or passes, maintaining visitor and vendor logs, and directing arrivals to the proper check-in areas.
  • Screen and process deliveries and commercial traffic by confirming appointments, checking bills of lading and/or shipping paperwork, and coordinating gate releases with onsite contacts.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and written reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations, reporting conditions that may require attention.
