About The Position

The Security Officer II is responsible for the security of and access control to National Guard facilities and compounds in conjunction with the current Force Protection Condition (FPCON) as a Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) certified Armed Security Officer. The position involves controlling access to the facility, monitoring the premises, and ensuring the safety and security of individuals and property within the installation.

Requirements

• Six months of experience in security, law enforcement, emergency responder work, or direct care of juveniles in a secure residential facility.
• Knowledge of routine security practices.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and give clear directions.
• Ability to make oral and written reports and establish effective working relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Possess a current Armed Security Guard License through CLEET.

Responsibilities

• Control access to facility by verifying identity and purpose of individuals seeking entrance.
• Provide identification checks at gate entrance and maintain logs of all visitors.
• Monitor facility using video camera systems, alarms, and personal inspections.
• Physically check doors and vaults to ensure they are locked and secure.
• Perform identification checks and vehicle searches as warranted by FPCON level.
• Provide direction and assistance to individuals seeking entrance and telephone callers.
• Notify County Sheriff if assistance is warranted.
• Prepare documentation and daily logs for all incidents and security violations.
• Maintain a current Armed Security Guard License with CLEET.
• Attend CLEET mandated training annually.
