About The Position

The Security Officer II will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling, and monitoring premises, assets, and personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must possess a current State of Texas level II Non-Commissioned Officer license.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have held the Security Officer I position or equivalent position for a minimum of 2 years and demonstrated a high degree of knowledge and proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain control in emergency situations.
  • Ability to prioritize and rearrange tasks as needed.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property (by foot/vehicle); monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting/denying entry.
  • Obtains help by sounding alarms.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures.
  • Controls traffic by directing drivers.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
  • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Process and prioritizes incoming emergency calls and non-emergency calls for assistance and takes appropriate action.
  • Receives and disseminates security related information to concerned parties and staff members.
  • Informs staff of new and updated rules, regulations and processes pertaining to emergency situations.
  • Monitors security cameras and alarm systems.
