About The Position

Under general supervision, provide security and protection for students, staff, and visitors within assigned area of the district. Provides escort services, and other basic public assistance services as needed. Performs routine security and public safety patrol duties within assigned area. Remains alert to emergency situations and provides first-line response, emergency management, and/or referral if required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Clear and valid Texas driver's license.
• Minimum 5 years law enforcement work experience.
• License to Carry Handgun issued under Texas Government Code.
• Certificate of school safety training under Government Code 411.1901 (must be acquired within 30 days of employment).
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to clearly and accurately record information.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community members.
• Ability to demonstrate problem solving and responsible decision-making skills.
• Ability to maintain and project professional appearance.
• Pass criminal history, drug testing, medical and psychological screening process.
• Ability to maintain firearm proficiency as required.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of security-related and emergency operations planning.
• Familiarity with security technology (security cameras).
• Strong public relations and interpersonal skills.
• Writing and verbal communication skills for fact-gathering and report preparation.
