About The Position

The Security Officer I is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the casino environment by controlling access, patrolling the premises, and providing a welcoming experience for guests. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, vigilance in identifying security risks, and the ability to handle various situations with professionalism. The position operates 24/7, with shifts assigned based on organizational needs, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required, or currently enrolled in a GED program with completion within six months of start date.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• One year of experience in law enforcement, military, or security capacity required, or one year of experience in a front of house position within WC required.
• Must complete a minimum of 80% pass rate in basic Security Officer training program within 60 days of employment.
• Must meet and maintain departmental physical fitness standards, including lifting 100 lbs for 300 feet in 120 seconds, climbing 4 flights of stairs in 80 seconds, and running 350 ft in 90 seconds.
• Must complete BASSET training and certification and Title 31 training as required within employment period.
• Basic first aid, CPR, and AED certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition and report writing exercise.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for the entire shift.
• Willing to work odd or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to travel for training as required.
• Must have an Occupational License or the ability to obtain one as per the Illinois Gaming Act.
• Must have a current State driver's license and an insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a customer service role is preferred.
• Previous experience in a casino or hospitality environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Control access to the casino by verifying identification of patrons under 30 years of age.
• Prevent access to the gaming floor for anyone under the age of 21.
• Patrol the casino floor to identify issues requiring security attention.
• Maintain focus and concentration amidst distractions.
• Follow standardized operational procedures diligently.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure it does not leave the property.
• Provide a warm welcome to patrons entering or leaving the building.
• Prepare written reports to document incidents and activities.
• Transport guests using company vehicles as needed.
• Initiate and prepare Security Incident Reports.
• Escort chips, cash, and table game drops according to company procedures.
• Report any criminal or suspicious activity immediately.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
• Communicate violations of company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Perform duties related to the IGB Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program.
• Safeguard the overall integrity of gaming operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
