As a Security Officer - Apartment Patrol in Petersburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a strong visible presence, and help identify and report security-related concerns. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely response to calls for assistance. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including conflict de-escalation, assistance with disruptive behavior, and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter points, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor access control points by observing visitor flow, checking credentials as required, helping to direct visitors to appropriate destinations, and assisting with restricted-area protocols.
  • Document observations, incidents, and daily activities in written reports and/or electronic systems, preserving relevant details and coordinating with Allied Universal management and site representatives.
