Job Description As a Security Officer – Hospital Rounds Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas to help create a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while your customer service and communication skills will support a positive experience for everyone on site. Requirements

  • Vaccines required for hospital settings.
  • Must be able to work in hospital morgue environments.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner within the healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious activity.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or patients to address inquiries or direct them as needed.
  • Follow all protocols and procedures specific to the healthcare environment, adapting to changing conditions and requirements as needed.
