Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazards.
- Monitor access points and common areas, observe for unusual activity, and report concerns in accordance with site-specific policies.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and coordination with clinical staff and/or local responders as directed.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide directions and general assistance, support visitor management processes, and help maintain orderly movement through public areas.
- Operate communications equipment such as radios and phones, relay accurate information to site leadership, and follow post orders for notifications and escalation.
- Support site-specific protocols for sensitive areas and patient privacy, including observing and reporting potential policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
