As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support patients, visitors, and staff with professional communication, and document activity clearly. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Have a minimum of 2+ years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow as assigned, help to verify authorization for restricted areas, and assist with wayfinding and compliance with posted rules and/or facility guidelines.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift activity logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts during shift turnover.
