About The Position

As a Security Officer - Community Walking Patrol in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet guests, assist with directions and concerns, and communicate clearly with store teams and management while documenting activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail common areas, storefront corridors, back-of-house service areas, loading docks, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points and respond to alarms, disturbances, and/or suspicious behavior in a calm, problem-solving manner while coordinating with site management and local responders as needed.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, and/or maintenance hazards in daily logs and incident reports and communicate observations to the supervisor and/or site contacts.
• Assist with closing and/or opening routines, vendor deliveries, and crowd or queue management during peak shopping hours while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.
